Local Insight: La Verkin

La Verkin: The Beautiful Valley. La Verkin, known as “the beautiful valley”, is located just north of Hurricane and south of Toquerville. If you blink, you might miss it! While small, many pass through La Verkin each day, as it is located near many popular tourist destinations. Some of the nearby parks include Quail Creek State Park, Sand Hollow State Park, Snow Canyon State Park, Confluence Park, and more! Originally, La Verkin was known for the La Verkin Pah Tempe Hot Mineral Springs. Although the hot springs are now closed, the Water Conservancy District website states, “The district currently anticipates that the springs may be reopened as a public community recreational amenity once environmental and safety issues have been addressed.” Next time you’re in Southern Utah, be sure to check out La Verkin, and maybe even stop by local favorites like the Stage Coach Grille or River Rock Roasting Company.
