Easy DIY Halloween Couples Costume Ideas

So you are going to a Halloween party with your significant other and you’re not sure who to dress up as… Check out our list of classic and popular couples costume ideas.

Jim and Pam from the Office

This couples costume pays ode to one of the most lovable and memorable television couples of all time, Jim Halpert and Pam Beasley from the Office TV show! If you are pressed for time to make an outfit, both the Jim look and the Pam look are super easy to put together! To look like Pam, wear a pencil skirt, a white blouse, and a sweater (and don’t forget to put your hair into the half up, half down hairstyle). To get Jim’s look, wear slacks, a button up white shirt, a tie, and tape three pieces of circular paper vertically on your chest (to look like the three hole punch that Jim dressed up as in the show).

Mr. and Mrs. Incredible

Live the dream of being super heroes for an evening by dressing up as Mr. and Mrs. Incredible! You can either buy the Incredibles costumes on Amazon or another costume store or you could go the cheaper route and wear red t-shirts and tape an “I” on each t-shirt.

Princess Bride

This couples costume brings back a nostalgic feel for the timeless “Princess Bride” movie that was made in the 1980’s. To recreate Buttercup’s red dress, find a floor length red dress at a thrift store and tie a gold belt around the waist. For Westley’s costume, pair lace up leather boots with black pants, a flowy long sleeved black shirt, and a mask (for Westley’s Dread Pirate Roberts persona).

Hippies

Pull out those flower patterned shirts, fringe boots, and peace shaped sunglasses! If you don’t have these on hand from the actual 1960’s, they aren’t too hard to find at a thrift store! Other items that are popular to wear for a hippie costume are tie dye shirts, bell bottom pants, leather vests, and colorful headbands. Mary Poppins and Bert

Both the Mary Poppins and the Bert costumes have great props and are fun costumes to assemble! Plus, these costumes together are usually very recognizable and put a smile on peoples’ faces (who doesn’t love the Mary Poppins movie?). For the Mary Poppins outfit, pair a navy blue skirt with a white blouse, a red belt and red bowtie, a hat with fake flowers attached to the hat, and the famous umbrella! For Burt’s costume, wear black pants with an old button up shirt, a chimney sweeper, and a 1920’s Gatsby hat.
